This is only a short representative list of Multimedia Software, which fits the philosophy and characteristics of LTAs and which empowers the user like never before. Colloquia is described as a peer-to-peer learning management and groupware system. It is a software system that supports group working and group learning. It allows any user to set up a working or learning group around a particular topic (a context), add people to it, add resources (web pages, documents etc) to it, set up group tasks, and then engage in group and personal "conversations" about the topic.

A free GPLsoftware working with PHP/MySQL. It is a course based educational tool allowing the teacher to create, admin and feed his/her courses through the web. To launch e-learning with Claroline, an organisation needs to spend money only on hardware and bandwidth. All software required can be downloaded free of charge, both server side: Linux, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Postfix (or Sendmail), Claroline. And client side: any browser.

The solution, as the recent success of Linux and other Open Source solutions shows, is to create a true community of users, developpers, debuggers, translators... Claroline has already been translated in 12 languages and benefits from debugging and development from all over the world. Universites, schools, companies and organisations collaborate around claroline to get the tool working better and to have it fit their needs.
